“This Means Something! This Is Important!”

Today at dinner, I was served an enormous amount of mashed potatoes with my baked chicken. And faced with this monstrosity I, of course, had to recreate the Richard Dreyfuss dinner scene from “Closer Encounters of the Third Kind.”

This was a bit embarassing to my dinner companion. Also, he had never seen the movie so I had to explain the mountain of potatoes before he called the server over asking what was wrong with me.

  1. It’s funny to find this reference on your blog, only last night did I compare my 3 year old son’s freakish penchant for lining up random objects (spoons, teabags, toys, pens) into a “train” to Richard Dreyfuss manic mashed potatoes. Such a classic performance.
