Someone Should Explain What the Glass Ceiling is to Sarah Palin.

Someone should pull Sarah Palin aside and explain to her what the term ‘glass ceiling’ means.  Briefly, it means that women and minorities can ascend to high levels in business and government but will never attain the highest place, i.e. CEO of a corporation or President of the United States.

Today, when McCain chose Palin to be his running mate, she offered platitudes to the women who are still upset after Hillary Clinton’s defeat.

“It turns out that women in America aren’t finished yet and we can shatter that glass ceiling once and for all.”  Cue the cheers and applause but does anyone else feel dirty just having watched this?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure she’s qualified (?) to be the VP.  And, yes, it is wonderful that a woman is on the ticket, period.  To be honest, I don’t know too much about her so I can’t make some laundry list of complaints or compliments.  But after a long drawn out battle between two minorities during the primary season, doesn’t this just seem like McCain is trying to further divide America?

Hey, you can either vote for a black man or a white woman.  They’re both minorities, so who do you identifiy yourself with more?

It’s this decisive politics that’s tearing America apart in the first place.

Also, let’s not forget that this is a woman who does not have women’s’ best interests at heart.  Palin is even to the right of McCain, opposing abortions for women who have been raped.

I sincerely hope that undecided voters are able to see past this elaborate ruse and that the people who make up PUMA can see this for what it is:  manipulation of the worse kind.

    Hahahaha!

She’s very pretty, but she would definitely frighten me if I ever met her.

  2. She still has beauty queen hair and her daughter was wearing a tiara. I know you don’t like Rachel Maddow, but I loved it today when she compared Palin to Dan Quayle. I sincerely hope that everyone kind of looks at this woman like the half-assed stunt diversion that she is.

  3. Breaking news here:

“Hey, you can either vote for a black man or a white woman. They’re both minorities,”

    When did women become “minorities?”
